Makoto Kobayashi (小林 誠, Kobayashi Makoto, lahir 7 April 1944) adalah fisikawan Jepang yang dikenal dengan karyanya CP-violation. Artikelnya yang berjudul "CP Violation in the Renormalizable Theory of Weak Interaction"[3] (1973) yang ditulis bersama Toshihide Maskawa menjadi artikel terbaik ketiga, sebagai paper fisika sepanjang 2007.[4] CKM Matrix, yang mendefinisikan paramater pencampuran antara quark merupakan hasil kerjanya. Ia, bersama Toshihide Maskawa menerima hadiah Nobel 2008 bidang fisika, "bagi penemuannya yang memprediksi asal kerusakan simetris setidaknya tiga keluarga dari quark dialam."[5][6][7]
