Francis Willughby (terkadang disebut Willoughby, bahasa Latin: Franciscus Willughbeius)[a] FRS (22 November 1635 – 3 Juli 1672) adalah seorang pakar ornitologi, iktiologi dan matematika asal Inggris, dan murid awal linguistik dan permainan.

Ia lahir dan dibesarkan di Middleton Hall, Warwickshire, putra tunggal dari sebuah keluarga desa. Ia menjadi murid di Trinity College, Cambridge. Ia dibimbing oleh matematikawan dan naturalis John Ray, yang menjadi teman dan kolega seumur hidupnya, dan tinggal dengan Willughby setelah 1662 kala Ray kehilangan mata pencahariannya karena enggan menandatangani Act of Uniformity. Ray menerbitkan buku-buku tentang burung, ikan dan invertebrata, Ornithologiae Libri Tres, Historia Piscium dan Historia Insectorum. Ornithology juga diterbitkan dalam bentuk perluasan dalam bahasa Inggris.
