Malcolm Charles Barber (lahir tanggal 4 Maret 1943) adalah seorang ahli sejarah abad pertengahan dari Inggris, dirujuk sebagai ahli mengenai Kesatria Kenisah dunia terkemuka yang masih hidup. Ia menulis dua buku yang dianggap paling lengkap mengenai subjeknya tersebut, The Trial of the Templars (1978) dan The New Knighthood: A History of the Order of the Temple (1994).[1] Ia menjadi editor untuk The Journal of Medieval History dan menulis banyak artikel mengenai Kesatria Kenisah, Kaum Katar, berbagai bagian dari Perang Salib, dan masa kekuasaan Raja Philippe IV dari Prancis.

Biografi

Lahir pada tahun 1943, Barber sekolah di Walpole Grammar School di Ealing tahun 1954-1961, kemudian berkuliah di University of Nottingham tahun 1961-1966, dimana ia memperoleh Bachelors Degree pada tahun 1964. Ia masuk British School di Roma tahun 1965-1966, dan memperoleh gelar PhD-nya pada tahun 1968 dari University of Nottingham.

Barber adalah seorang profesor Sejarah Eropa Abad Pertengahan di Fakultas Sastra dan Ilmu Sosial di University of Reading, Inggris, hingga pensiunnya di bulan September 2004.
