Kristal londonit kuning besar (hingga 1,8 cm) yang berasosiasi dengan turmalin rubelit. Londonit adalah sebuah heptaborat kaya sesium yang tidak biasa.[1]

Mineral borat adalah mineral yang mengandung sebuah gugus anion borat. Unit borat (BO3) dapat dipolimerisasi mirip dengan unit SiO4 dari kelas mineral silikat. Hal ini menghasilkan anion B2O5, B3O6, B2O4 serta struktur yang lebih kompleks yang mencakup anion hidroksida atau halogen.[2] Anion [B(O,OH)4]− juga eksis.

Banyak mineral borat, seperti boraks, kolemanit, dan uleksit, yang berbentuk garam: lunak, mudah larut, dan ditemukan dalam konteks evaporit. Namun, beberapa di antaranya, seperti borasit, keras dan tahan terhadap pelapukan, lebih mirip dengan silikat.
