Seseorang menguji mutu tanah

Kualitas tanah atau mutu tanah (bahasa Inggris: soil quality) merujuk kepada kondisi tanah bedasarkan kemampuannya untuk menjalankan jasa ekosistem yang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan kehidupan manusia dan non-manusia.[1][2][3][4]

Mutu tanah mencerminkan seberapa baik kerja tanah dalam mempertahankan keanekaragaman dan produktivitas hayati, membagi aliran air dan larutan lainnya, menyangga dan menyaring daur hara, serta memberi tunjangan kepada tumbuhan dan struktur lainnya. Kelola tanah memiliki dampak yang besar pada mutu tanah.

Mutu tanah berhubungan dengan fungsi tanah. Tidak seperti air atau udara yang memiliki standar-standar yang sudah ditentukan, mutu tanah sulit didefinisikan atau dijumlahkan.
