Nicholas Rescher (/ˈrɛʃər/; Jerman: [ˈʁɛʃɐ]; 15 Juli 1928 – 5 Januari 2024) adalah seorang filsuf, polimatik dan pengarang Amerika Serikat kelahiran Jerman, yang menjadi profesor filsafat di Universitas Pittsburgh dari 1961. Ia merupakan ketua Center for Philosophy of Science dan ketua departemen filsafat.[1]
Rescher menjabat sebagai presiden American Catholic Philosophical Association, Leibniz Society of North America, American Metaphysical Society, American Philosophical Association, dan Charles S. Peirce Society.[2] Ia adalah pendiri American Philosophical Quarterly,[3] History of Philosophy Quarterly, dan Public Affairs Quarterly.[4] Ia meninggal dunia di Pittsburgh pada 5 Januari 2024, dalam usia 95 tahun.[5]
