Martin Roy Cheek (lahir 1960) adalah seorang ahli botani dan ahli taksonomi di Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.[1]
Cheek kuliah di Universitas Reading, lulus dengan B.Sc. pada tahun 1981 dan M.Sc. pada tahun 1983. Dia meraih gelar Ph.D. di Universitas Oxford pada tahun 1989.[1]
Penelitian
suntingCheek telah mendeskripsikan beberapa spesies Nepenthes baru, sebagian besar dengan Matthew Jebb, yaitu: N. argentii,[2] N. aristolochioides,[2] N. danseri,[2] N. di atas,[2] N. hurrelliana,[3] N. lamii,[2] N. mira,[4] N. murudensis,[2] N. robcantleyi,[5] dan N. thai.[6] Mereka juga memasukan N. macrophylla ke tingkatan spesies.[2] Cheek dan Jebb merevisi genus dalam dua monograf utama: "Revisi kerangka Nepenthes (Nepenthaceae)" (1997)[2] dan "Nepenthaceae" (2001)[7]
Cheek dan penelitiannya ditampilkan dalam film dokumenter The Mists of Mwanenguba.[8]
